Wildefire

Wildefire - Karsten Knight I got mixed feelings about this one.The writing was very vivid and it definitely started with a bang that engaged me right from the start. However I don't like being kept in the dark for too long, there were so many questions and so few answers. But I really enjoy mythology, be it Greek, Norse or Roman and I wished there would've been more of that.Ashline's character makes an amazing heroine, I absolutely loved that she didn't roll into a ball and sobbed her heart out when things got tough - Nah, she put her big girl panties on and dealt with it. It was refershing to have a main character with a working backbone for once. Oh, and I totally loved her sarcasm. She might be angry and someone might've disliked that but I loved her just the way she was.The other characters were equally likable and the dialogue was fun, witty and entertaining - actually even the bad guys had a certain charme. I was never quite able to predict where this one was going - one minute I thought "Yep, that's right." and the next minute it was a bit of "What the fuck just happened."And to top it off, the book not only started with a bang, it ended with one as well and what a bang that was. I'm serioulsy happy that I have the second installment already on my reader because cliffhangers like that drive me to insanity! So while I had some concerns, mainly about to many open questions (I'm really not a patient person) and not enough mythology aspects, I'll hop right to book 2 and hope for my answers and more mythology!
